Spaghetti Aglio e Olio with Nanohana and Fermented Krill

This is a tasty pasta dish with fermented krill. Anchovies are nice but the krill doesn't have a strong flavour. My family prefers it to anchovies. This is one of our regular pasta dishes.

The saltiness of the fermented krill differs depending on the brand, so adjust the amount of salt accordingly. Recipe by kebeibiko

Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 1 bunchNanohana
  2. 2/3packet Shimeji mushrooms
  3. 1 tbspFermented krill
  4. 1 cloveFinely chopped garlic
  5. 1Sliced takanotsume
  6. 1Olive oil
  7. 1Spaghetti
  8. 1Black pepper

Cooking Instructions

    Boil the water for the pasta. Cut the nanohana into 3-4 cm lengths.

    Heat olive oil, garlic, and chlli in a frying pan over a low heat until fragrant.

  3. 3

    Add the shimeji mushrooms and the thick stalks of the nanohana. Stir well to coat the vegetables with oil (time the pasta so that it's almost done at this step!)

    Add the fermented krill, the rest of the nanohana, and a little of the pasta cooking water.

    Add the drained pasta and stir well. Sprinkle with black pepper to taste.

    You can freeze fermented krill! Use it also for making kimchi or other dishes as shown below.
