I'm not crazy about lentils, so I came up with this way to enjoy them without the extra calories! A very nutritious dish with a taste that doesn't remind you of legumes at all! And it's perfect not just for fasting periods!
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Blend the lentils in a food processor until they resemble ground meat, but not completely pureed. Transfer to a bowl.
- 2
Next, blend the onion, tomato, bell pepper, garlic, and mint in the food processor and mix them with the lentils.
- 3
Add the oats, mustard, apple cider vinegar, and spices to the mixture. Be careful with the salt because the vegetable powder mix also contains salt!
- 4
Place the mixture in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to firm up.
- 5
Shape into patties and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 400°F until they are browned and crispy, about half an hour!

Indian Veggie Potato Patties Indian Veggie Potato Patties
In India, this is sold at street-side food stands, but is also sometimes made at home. Since India is a vegetarian-based country, the local McDonald's also serve these potato burgers (McAloo Tikki), which are popular with people of all ages. With that in mind, I came up with this recipe for a home-cooked version. For this recipe, I used spinach since it was on hand, but you can use any variety of cooked mixed vegetables. Just parboil and chop and prep any vegetable on hand, and add it to the mixture. At McDonald's, they serve them deep-fried, but this recipe is the authentic way of eating them. Large Pan-Fried Edamame Patties Large Pan-Fried Edamame Patties
I wanted to try to make something fashionable using edamame. This is a simple dish but it takes some time to remove the thin skins around the beans and to mash them, so this is aimed for those who have the time.Step 1) You can probably use a food processor. You can use whatever method you want to crush them. Even use a knife to smash the beans.Step 4) Enjoy with sauce.1 serving is probably about 200 g. Recipe by Kogekogepan cookpad.japan -
My Family's Quick and Plump Tofu Hamburger Patties My Family's Quick and Plump Tofu Hamburger Patties
I'm the type that makes hamburger patties without sautéing the onions. Hamburger with tofu is a go-to dish for our family. It is easier to shape the patties if you drain the firm tofu really well. The key to make the hamburger plump and soft is to continue to combine the mixture until it contains air and becomes white and sticky.Serve it with your favorite sauce, Japanese sauce, or make simmered hamburgers. Meatless Teriyaki Tofu Hamburger Patties Meatless Teriyaki Tofu Hamburger Patties
I wanted to feed my 2 and a half year old daughter healthy food, so I came up with this. When I make it at home I usually I just eyeball the amounts. It makes me so happy to see my child eating her meals with gusto. My wife likes it too!It may look like there are a lot of steps but there really aren't. By freezing it, the moisture in the konnyaku drains away, making it more chewy. And by parboiling it, its unique smell goes away. If you want to freeze these burgers please sauté the onion. If you make them into bite sized burgers they'll be perfect for bentos. For 4 servings. Recipe by Usajisan cookpad.japan -
