Wanted to make lasagna that I'd enjoy and not starchy and after so many attempts I figured it out.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Boil big pot of water and add the lasagna noodles straight in. To prevent from sticking try to slowly bend them to they are laying the their side.
- 2
Grab a skillet and the ground beef. Cook and ground the beef as fine as you want. Drain the grease into a bowl let it cool then throw the grease away. Put the ground beef back into the skillet add any seasoning of your choice I prefer onion powder. Then add some spaghetti sauce enough to coat the ground beef.
- 3
When the lasagna noodles are done, drain and don't rinse. Take tongs and drap the noodles over your drainer. This is so the noodles won't stick together and if you rinse you will cause the lasagna to become soggy.
- 4
Grab your glass dish and coat the bottom with spaghetti sauce.
- 5
Add 3 noodles to the bottom then add the ground beef on top then 1 Cup of cheddar cheese.
- 6
Layer 4 lasagna noodles to the width of the glass dish. The noodles will over hang that it fine. Add spoon full of spaghetti sauce and cover the noodles. Then add most of small container of large curd cottage cheese and spread evenly. Then add 2 cups of mozzarella cheese fold the hanging lasagna noodles over the cheese and add little spaghetti sauce on top of them.
- 7
Place the last 3 lasagna noodles on top lengthway and tuck the edges of the noodles in. Add all the remaining spaghetti sauce ontop spread evenly make sure to cover all the noodles. Then add reaming cheese on top.
- 8
Cook on 350 degree's for 40 minutes or you see the spaghetti sauce boiling around the edges. Take out let it cool off before serving.

I've made this several of times. It originally was a cheese lasagna but I tweaked it a little bit. I kind of merged it with another lasagna recipe. I suggest that you double the cheese mixture just because I always run out of it before I'm done. But other than that, I hope you enjoy this recipe. Teapot1991m -

Some people will prefer ricotta cheese over cottage cheese., but I prefer the cottage cheese. Lasagna is like spaghetti in the fact that individual recipes vary so much. I always say, "Try it my way and if you think it lacks something or you dont care for something in it, change it. Tweek it. Make it your own. Own it!" sandra53 -
