Ingredients

  1. 4large sweet potatoes
  2. 1 cupwhite sugar (divided into half)
  3. 1 cupbrown sugar (divided into half)
  4. Halfstick of butter
  5. 2 tbspvanilla
  6. 1 tbspcinnamon
  7. 2 tspsalt
  8. 2 tbspwater
  9. 1 tspnutmeg (optional)
  10. 1medium to large saucepan with lid

    Cut both ends of sweet potatoes off and peel. Cut in half lengthwise and slice into thin to medium slices.

    Put water into bottom of pan to prevent sticking and place only half of potatoes.

    Pour half a cup of brown and white sugar both over potatoes.

    Put other half of potatoes and pour the rest of both sugars over that.

    Also add cinnamon nutmeg (optionally) salt and vanilla on top at this time.

    Turn burner on medium-low heat and wait for it to heat up. Cover only half of the pot and cook for 10 mins.

    Remove lid and flip over potatoes on top. Make sure to get the top ones down into the bubbling liquid to cook.

    Cook for another 10 to 12 minutes or until fork tender.

    Remove completely from heat and add half a stick of butter cut into pads and cover with lid to melt.

    Let sit for 5 minutes and enjoy !!!!
