Luni Khaja /Namkin Parre as shown in picture is a traditional savoury of 56 Bhog of Lord Jagannath, Puri, Odisha. This Parre is smaller than the sweet Khaja offered to Lord in Chappan Bhog. We , at our house prepare Luni Khaja on any festive occasions including Deepawali. It's an easy savoury to make, offered to Lord and enjoyed by all.

We , at our house prepare Luni Khaja on any festive occasions including Deepawali. It's an easy savoury to make, offered to Lord and enjoyed by all.

In a bowl take maida, 1 tbsp ghee and a pinch of salt and carom seeds.

Rub these ingredients like bread crumbs. Add little water at a time.

Make a medium dough, not so hard or too soft. Rest the dough for 15 minutes.

Make a paste of 1 tsp rice flour and 0.5 Tbsp ghee.

Divide the dough into 4 balls. Make out thin rotis.

Spread evenly rice paste on two rotis. Place two remaining rotis on the rice paste rotis.

Roll the two rotis and cut each into 3 parts. Roll each of these.

Heat oil/ghee to low to medium flame.

Drop two pare at a time, leaving some space in between the two. Deep fry both the sides till golden. So you can prepare 6 namkin parre.

You can store this namkin Parre for a month in an air tight container. Enjoy.
