Take all whole spices on low flame roast till golden (don't burn) remove in a plate. Let's be cool. Once cooled grind to fine powder keep aside.

Take a pressure cooker add cook 1/2 cup pigeon pea lentils (arhar dal) with 1.5 cup water cook till completely soft.

When the presser cooker gets completely cool open lid mash dal with spoon or masher.

In another pan heat up oil black mustered seeds when they crackers add curry leaves dry red chilly broken turmeric powder assofodeta roasted ground rasam powder stir.

Immediately mix in cooked dal add tamarind pulp simmer for 2-3 min. Sprinkle chopped green coriander leaves.

Serve hot plain or with steamed rice.
