Aamras in 5 Mins 🧡

My cousin sister had sent some Mankurad Mangoes from Goa with my daughter who had gone on a short trip there recently. This particular variety of Mangoes are a Goan speciality in summer. They were brought to the Goan soil by Portuguese colonists all the way from Brazil.
So by the time these Mangoes reached here, they had become slightly overdone so I decided to make Aamras using them. Served it chilled at lunch time, tasted divine 😍

Steps

5 mins
  1. 1

Wash, peel & squeeze out the pulp from the mangoes in a bowl. Try using chilled ones if you want to serve it instantly.

  2. 2

Powder the sugar in a blender.

  3. 3

Add the ready mango pulp, give it a whiz till smooth.
Some people like to add a hint of kesar or cardamom powder to the Aamras but I like to keep the flavours of the mango as is & it don't add any flavouring.

  4. 4

Add upto 1/4th cup to 1/2 cold milk, whiz again. Take out ready mango puree & in a bowl & chill in the fridge till serving time.

  5. 5

Tastes best with hot, crisppppy Pooris & Aloo Sabzi!
