Oven Roasted Yellow Split Moong Daal

An amazingly easy and simple one to do on any day when you have some time on your hand so that you relish it later on for a few days to come alongside Shaam ki Chai or at Tea-time with your loved ones.
This one is just Moong Daal from Haldirams where in I had just added some Pink Himalayan Salt keeping it simple and without any extra spices.
Though it's always your say in the end. You can add your favorite extras to it to suit your needs.
Now there is only one thing to remember while doing this. After halfway through, kindly keep an extra vigil over it. If you want it to be crispier, let it get done for an extra few minutes. Otherwise, you will be done in the time mentioned above. And if you roast it more, the colour might be a bit on the darker side. That's it.
And not to worry, it gets crispier as it cools. So do it accordingly.

Steps
- 1
Wash and soak the Moong Daal in enough water at first. Allow it to soak for about 4-5 hours for best results. Then drain thoroughly until dry passing it through a strainer.
- 2
Now spread on a butter paper lined baking tray. Add Salt and Olive Oil to a small bowl. Mix well and spread on the baking tray. Give it a light stir with a spatula. Dry Mango powder or Amchur can also be added. It's absolutely optional.
- 3
Allow them to bake on 200° for about 45 minutes or as required.
Serve it piping hot immediately. Or else if you don't intend to serve it immediately, then just store them after they come down to room temperature. That's it. As simple as that. Yum!
