This one basically is a Pulao from the City of Nawabs- Hyderabad. One pot meal with meat and Potatoes makes it a favourite of many a Hydis. Try this gorgeous Tahari with your family and friends. Succulent meat pieces cooked in tangy Yoghurt gravy along with Tomatoes and Potatoes makes it a most delectable one pot meal.

It's made with Lamb, Chicken and Beef. I have already shared a few variations of this super duper wonderful Tahari from my City. However this one with Beef is my first recipe on this platform. As Bakra Eid celebrations begin, Neighbours and relatives visit you with the share of sacrificial animal. And hence I made this delicious Tahari with the Beef. The method of making it is same for all the variations. Only thing to remember is that Lamb requires less pressure cooking as compared to Beef. And as far as Chicken is concerned, there is no need to pressure cook at all.

Let's get started right away.

Steps

45-50 minutes
  1. 1

First of all wash and clean the Beef bone-in. Add salt to taste and ginger garlic paste to it. Pressure cook it for 12 whistles or depending upon the meat.

  2. 2

Keep it aside for the pressure to settle down. Soak rice for 30 minutes. In a big cooking pot, heat oil and add all the whole masalas. Now add the onions and saute until translucent. Next add, the chopped tomatoes and the spices one by one.

  3. 3

Cover and cook until the tomatoes are mushy and tender. Also add the beaten yoghurt. Peel potatoes and deep fry until half done. Do not over fry them. Drain and keep aside. After the tomatoes are done, add the pressure cooked beef.

Also add the fried potato cubes. Finally add the soaked rice and adjust salt proportion. Add water according to the rice taken. Mix well and cook on high flame until it starts bubbling. Do not stir vigorously. Do it with light hands. Cover and simmer on a low heat for the next 20 to 25 minutes.

    Hyderabadi Ande Ki Tahari
  5. 5

In between, keep checking and add some hot water if required. Do not add more of it otherwise it becomes mushy. Serve this complete meal on it's own or alongside raita and salad. Enjoy!

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
