Steps
- 1
Measure 3. 5 cups of water into a bowl, add measurable amount of salt /sugar, 2 tablespoons of cooking oil, 2 eggs (optional). Stir the mixture till the sugar and salt dissolves
- 2
Continuously add floor into the mixture while mixing with your fingers.
- 3
Continue kneading until the dough is non-sticky. Add flour if needed.
Add 4 tablespoons of cooking oil into the dough, knead till it is soft - 4
Cover the dough and leave it for 40 to 60 minutes.
After 60 minutes, divide the dough egually into ball shaped parts. Spread some flour over the parts - 5
Spread some flour on a surface, roll the parts each after another, into a circular shape with a rolling pin. Ensure that the rolls don't stick on either the rolling pin or surface by continuously spreading bits of flour.
- 6
Heat the cooking pan on medium flame, once hot enough, place the chapati on the pan, let it cook on both sides till little brown spots begin to appear. Remove the chapati from the Heat and cook all the other rolled parts the same way.
- 7
Using medium flame apply cooking oil on one side of the halfway cooked chapati, turn it and let it cook.
Continue frying each side till it's golden brown.
Place your soft golden brown chapatis in a bowl/flat plate and cover.
Serve your chapatis with any stew of your choice.Enjoy.
