Ingredients

20 minutes
2 people
  • 1 cuproasted crushed peanut powder
  • 3 cupswater
  • 2 tbspoil
  • 1 tspmustard seeds
  • 1 tspcumin seeds
  • Pinchasaefoitida
  • 7-8 clovesgarlic
  • 1 tspturmeric powder
  • 1 tspred chili powder
  • 1 tbspkala masala or kanda lasun masala or garam masala
  • As Per TasteSalt
  • 2 pieceskokum or 2 tbsp tamarind pulp or 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbspjaggery powder or crushed juggery

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Roast peanuts in a pan. Remove its skin and grind in a mixer.

  2. 2

    Make a tempering. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, and crushed garlic. Saute for 1 minute.

  3. 3

    Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and Kala masala. Saute for another 1 minute.

  4. 4

    Add crushed peanut powder. Roast for 1 minute.

  5. 5

    Add water. Make medium consistency of curry. Not so thin not so thick.

  6. 6

    Add kokum and jaggery powder. Cover lid. Boil for 8 to 10 minutes.

  7. 7

    Your peanut amti is ready. Serve hot with jowar bhakri, roti or rice.

  8. 8

    Make pieces of bhakri or roti. Pour amti on it. Mix it then have it. You will relish the taste more by this method.
