Kali Malka daal with rice

Wash and soak rice and dal separately for nearly 10 minutes. Add dal with two cups of water turmeric and salt to about 3 whistles on medium flame. Let the pressure drop itself and then open the lid.

To prepare tadka heat ghee in tadka pan. Add mustard seeds to splutter. Add cumin seeds, green chilies, and hing. Pour this tadka over hot dal.

Keep 3 cups of water to boil. Add soaked rice and cover and cook till the rice is soft and tender. Once done switch off the flame. Ready....... Serve hot with rice.
