This is a very tradional dish eaten a lot in autum and winter. It is really yummie and comforting.
This is my version of this classic Belgian-French meal.
If you can find it use ground chichory instead of the hydroculture chicory. But I dought if it is exported.

Ingredients

  • Bechamel sauce
  • 50 grbutter
  • 40 grflour
  • 600 mlfull fat milk
  • Salt,pepper and nutmeg to taste
  • Gratin
  • 8medium chichory
  • 8 slicesgood quality cooked ham
  • 1 tbvegeta or salt
  • 2 tbpanko or readcrumbs
  • 100 grrated (Gouda) cheese

Steps

  1. 1

    Make a roux with butter and flour cook until you get a biscuit sent.

    Add milk and stir well.
    Add salt pepper and nutmeg to taste

    Remove stem of chicory. Cook chicory in microwave for 8 min 750 watt in 1 tb of water and the vegeta

    Roll chicory into ham

    Take an ovenproof container and put in a tin layer of sauce.
    Add the chicory rolls

    Cover with sauce.
    Mix cheese and crumbs and put on top.
    Put on some butter knobs

    Bake in medium oven with grill for about 20 min.

    Serve with mash
