This one-pot dish, known as Tehri or tahri is a delicious and flavorsome meal made with basmati rice or small grain rice with loads of peas. Tahari or Tehri is quite similar to that of Vegetable Pulao or even a simple Biriyani, but with minor modifications. It is a healthy wholesome meal by itself.

Take a pot add oil add 1 big sliced onion and 2-3 whole green chillies. Now ad the pre-soaked rice. Gentle mix it well else the rice might break. In another pot add 1 liter water to boil. Once it boils, throw in some whole garam masala. Now add water to the rice. Add salt as per taste.

Peel baby potatoes and boil them. Now fry them and keep them aside. take a cooker and add oil 3-4 tbsp now fry the onion add ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, As per taste salt and powdered garam masala. Allow to cook till tender. Keep it aside.

Once the rice is 3/4 cook add in the peas. Cook on low flame. Once the rice soaks the water add previously cooked meat.

Add boiled and fried potatoes. Throw in some fried onions. Some chopped green chillies and mint leaves. Simmer and cook for another 5-10 mins.

Tadaaaaa!!! its ready. You can serve with raita.
