Ingredients

  • 1 cupbajra millet
  • 1tbps oil
  • 1tbps ghee(clarified butter)
  • 1onion
  • 1tomato
  • 1carrot
  • 8,10beans
  • 1/2 cuppeas
  • 1/4 cupfinely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tspginger garlic paste
  • 1 tspmustard seeds
  • 1 tspcumin
  • 1 tspred chilli powder
  • 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  • 1/2 tspgaram masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cupmoong dal

    First wash pearl millet and soak in water for minimum 6hrs

    After 6hrs drain all the water and keep bajra aside

    Now take a pressure cooker, heat oil in it, once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds and cumin

    Now add sliced onions, ginger garlic paste, saute for 1min

    Now add all washed and chopped vegetables,mix well

    Now add all the dry spices- salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder and garam masala powder

    Mix well now and add soaked bajra(millet) and washed moong dal

    Combine well and cook for 2min

    Now add 3cups of hot water

    Cover the cooker lid and cook the khichadi for 4 whistles and then 10min on low flame

  11. 11

    Now turn off the flame, allow it to cool

    Now open the lid, add ghee and sprinkle finely chopped coriander leaves, mix well and serve hot
