Wash and soak rice, mix dals and chadela gehu, raw peanuts together in water for 2-3 hours. Soak jowar in warm water for 2-3 hours.

After soaking period cook in pressure cooker.

In a heavy bottom pan heat ghee and oil. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, ajwain, cloves, cinnamon stick, star anise and bay leaf. When mustard seeds crackles add asafoetida, dry red chilies, crushed green chilies and sesame seeds. Add chopped carrot and saute for 2-3 minutes. Add boiled papdi dana and green peas.

Now add all spices. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, dhania jeera powder, garam masala powder, black pepper powder, roasted cumin seeds powder and dry ginger powder. Mix well. Add cashew nuts. Add approximately 1 glass of water. Add salt and sugar and boil for 3-4 minutes.

Add cooked dal rice mixture along with jowar. Stir well. Cook for 3-4 minutes. Add chopped coriander leaves and mix well.

Delicious khichdo is ready. Serve with kadhi and papad. At the time of serving apply ghee over it and enjoy.
