Matar Pulao (Green Peas Pulao) is an everyday rice dish that pairs will curries, kababs, and much more. Ingredients

  • 1/4 cupoil
  • 2medium onions, sliced
  • 3 tspcumin seeds
  • 9whole cloves
  • 1small stick cinnamon
  • 1.5 cupsfresh peas
  • 3 cupswhite basmati rice, (wash and soak for half an hr before
  • 3.5 tspsalt, or to taste
  • 4 cupStock (chicken or vegetable)
  • For beef biscuits
  • 1 kgmeat tenderloin Steaks or Ribeye or Top Sirloin
  • 1/2 Tbspvegetable oil, or any canola oil
  • 1 1/2 tspsea salt
  • 1 tspblack pepper, freshly ground
  • 2 Tbspunsalted butter
  • 2 clovesgarlic, peeled and quartered
  • 1 sprigfresh rosemary or thyme

Steps

  1. 1

    In a pot, heat up the oil and add the sliced onions. Once they become golden, add the cumin seeds, cloves and cinnamon stick. Continue to fry the onions till they become brown and crisp take half quantity out of it

    Add the peas and ginger garlic paste stir fry them till they become soft enough

  3. 3

    Add the basmati rice, salt and 4 cup of water or stock.

    Season generously with salt. Mix well and check the taste to make sure that the water is slightly salty.

    Cover and cook on medium to high heat, or for to minutes. If you like your rice more on the al dente side then only cook for

    Use a fork to gently fluff the rice before serving warm. Garnish with some coriander (cilantro) sprigs or mint leaves.

    Instructions
    Thoroughly pat steak dry with paper towels. Just before cooking, generously season with 1 1/2 tsp salt and 1 tsp black pepper

  8. 8

    Heat the cast iron pan until hot then add 1/2 Tbsp oil over medium-high heat, swirling to coat. Once the oil is very hot, add steaks to the skillet.

    Sear the steaks on the first side for 4 minutes until a brown crust has formed then flip and cook another 3-4 minutes.

    Using tongs, turn the steak on its sides to render the white fat and sear the edges (1-minute per edge)

  11. 11

    Now cut the stake in small kabab like cylinders shape toss it well once again

  12. 12

    Serve it hot with peas pulao
