Steps
- 1
Score the konnyaku on both sides and on the edges too. Cut into easy to eat cubes.
- 2
Boil the konnyaku briefly to get rid of the odor, and drain well in a colander or sieve.
- 3
Stir fry the konnyaku pieces in a frying pan without any oil.
- 4
When the konnyaku is fairly well cooked, add the butter and coat the konnyaku with it. When the butter has melted, add the soup stock granules.
- 5
Stir-fry for about a minute until browned. Add the garlic powder and salt and pepper to finish.
- 6
Variation: When you want to change it up a bit, add some bonito flakes.
