Bhadran is a small town in Gujarat .There is a small shop of namkeen which sells this yummy namkeen .Over the years , this namkeen became so popular that it came to be known as " Bhadran Na Mung ."
This is a tea time snack that can be enjoyed by all ---- it has spicy , sweet , salty , sour, all taste in one , that gives a kick to your tastebuds & you start to love it from the 1st bite .

Wash mung 2 - 3 times.Soak mung in fresh water at least for 7- 8 hours. On soaking they will become double in size.Drain out the soaked water. Now wipe them dry with a towel / cloth.(preferably Turkish towel) Add cooking soda & toss them.On frying, soda will help soften the mung from inside.

Keep all the spices ready.

Heat oil.Add mung in small batches.Cover them for 2 min or till the sputtering noise stops. Continue to fry them while stirring occasionally.

When they are fried, remove them in a bowl. Now add all the spices & toss them well. Store them in an airtight container.

These mung stays good for 15 days. So it is good to carry them on travelling, picnics or when guests come to visit. Enjoy Mung Namkeen with friends or loved ones.
