Steps
- 1
Prepare the ingredients: Rinse the scallions and ginger. Cut the scallions into sections, peel and julienne the ginger, and peel and slice the garlic.
- 2
Rinse the baby squid, remove the innards and ink sac, and pat dry with paper towels.
- 3
Heat a pan and add 1 teaspoon each of toasted sesame oil and black sesame oil. Sauté the ginger until fragrant.
- 4
Add the prepared baby squid to the pan and stir-fry until they are halfway cooked and turn opaque.
- 5
Add the garlic slices and seasonings to the pan. Stir-fry, then cover and simmer for 5 minutes to let the squid absorb the flavors.
- 6
Add the scallion sections and Thai basil, stir-fry briefly, then turn off the heat.
- 7
Serve hot. This dish is great with rice or as an appetizer with drinks.
- 8
Tip: Adding Thai basil gives the dish a unique flavor.
