Oven-Free Wagashi-style Sweet Potato Treats

I wanted to try something different from our regular way of eating sweet potatoes and make a light and healthy snack for my kind. These are great for people with egg or dairy allergies, or as solid finger food for babies.
The sweetness of the sweet potatoes will improve after being cooked with the raisins in Step 1. If the potatoes are sweet to start with, there's no need to add anything else, but please taste and add sugar if necessary. Also, the sesame paste will improve its flavor, but if you don't have any, you can just substitute it with regular butter, heavy cream, or soy milk. Recipe by Soraten mama

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Slice the sweet potatoes. Simmer with raisins in plenty of water - cook until soft. You could also use a microwave or a steamer.
- 2
Mash the sweet potatoes while they're hot. Take care not to mash the raisins. Taste, and add sugar if necessary.
- 3
Set aside and let cool down slightly. Add the white sesame seed paste and the kinako. If the mixture is too soft to shape, add kinako. If too firm, then add the sesame paste.
- 4
Form into desired shapes to finish. I squeezed the balls of the sweet potato mixture in a sheet of plastic wrap, then twisted their tops make the little bundles in the photo.

Peach Nerikiri (Sweet Bean Paste Confections) - Easy Wagashi to Make for Dolls' Festival Peach Nerikiri (Sweet Bean Paste Confections) - Easy Wagashi to Make for Dolls' Festival
Sakura mochi are the traditional sweets to serve and are always nice, but since Doll's Day festival is also Peach Festival, I thought a peach-themed treat would be fun to try.Your cooking time will differ depending on the water in the white bean paste.Remember that the dough will stiffen when chilled. When you shape the dough using plastic wrap, and the dough sticks to the wrap when you try to remove it, that means that there is still too much water in the dough. This will look very peach-like if you marbleize the pink and white portions so there is no clear boundary. I had leftover adzuki beans from last year, so I created this recipe as a way to use them up. The secret ingredient makes it really good.If the adzuki beans in the tsubu-an are still hard after cooking (this probably won't happen), add 2 cups of water and the tsubu-an to the pressure cooker. Bring up the pressure and pressure cook for about 5 minutes (depending on how hard the beans were). Recipe by Momopanda cookpad.japan -
Nerikiri-Wagashi like sweet "Gazania" made from chestnut puree Nerikiri-Wagashi like sweet "Gazania" made from chestnut puree
This recipe is for a Nerikiri Wagashi like sweet which is made from chestnut puree and plain flour (I used a French chestnut puree). First, make dough with chestnut puree and plain flour and then make flower shaped sweets with it in the same way to make Nerikiri Wagashi. This dough is dark brown and it's difficult to colorize it. So I made dark colored gazania like Wagashi. Yu-Art Kichijoji -

Sweet Potato Cookies Sweet Potato Cookies
I was given loads of sweet potatoes, so I adapted a cookie recipe to incorporate them.Baking time may vary on your oven so adjust accordingly. You can either add 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds into the mixture when preparing the dough, or scatter them on the dough before baking. You can use margarine for this recipe, but butter is best. These cookies taste great if there are small lumps of sweet potato remaining. Recipe by nathu cookpad.japan -

Patisserie-style Sweet Potato Bites Patisserie-style Sweet Potato Bites
I wanted to make something for my grandmother. These are soft and slightly sweet! The rum adds a wonderful fragrance. The double coating of glaze makes these bright and glossy. Not only do they taste good, but they look good as well. If they don't brown, switch to a oven (or grill) and cook for a short time until golden Step 5: The mixture is thick enough when it sticks to the spoon. If you make it thick (almost like clay), it's much easier to shape. If you don't like rum, swap with a few drops of vanilla essence. Recipe by Ando-bebe cookpad.japan
