Canned Artichokes with Ham and Mackerel
Main dish or appetizer
Steps
- 1
Ingredients
- 2
Cover the bottom of a pan with oil and, when hot, add the artichokes cut in half. Cook for two or three minutes, then flip and brown for another two minutes. Set aside.
- 3
Add more oil if necessary, then add the onion and garlic cloves. I don't add salt because the ham is salty enough. Sauté for a few minutes until the color changes.
- 4
Add the ham and cook for a couple of minutes, stirring a bit.
- 5
Once done, add half a glass of wine or the artichoke liquid, depending on your preference. When the alcohol evaporates, add the artichokes and cook on medium heat for five minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 6
Then remove from heat, plate, and see the result in the photo.
- 7
There are two presentations: one for serving cold with mackerel and one for serving hot without it.
