Ingredients

30 minutes
2 servings
  • Khara Bhath(vegetable, masala Upma)
  • 1/2 cuproasted Semolina/Sooji
  • 2 Tbspghee/clarified butter
  • 1 Tspmustard seeds
  • 1/4 cupchopped onion
  • 1 Tspurad daal
  • 1 Tbspchana daal
  • 5-8curry leaves
  • 1green chilli slit
  • 1/2 cupchopped tomatoes
  • 2 Tbspchopped french beans
  • 1/2 cupchopped different colours capsicum
  • 1/2 Tspgrated ginger
  • 1 Tbspchopped green coriander leaves
  • 1/3 TspVangi bhath powder masala(optional)
  • 1/3 Tsplemon juice
  • 1 Tbspfriend Cashews and raisins
  • For Keshri Bhath
  • 1/2 cuproasted Semolina
  • 2 Tbspghee
  • 2 Tbspsaffron milk
  • Fried cashews and raisins as required
  • 2 Tbspcoconut (optional)
  • Sugar as required
  • 1/3 Tspcardamom powder
  • 1.5 cupwater

Steps

    Arrange and assemble the ingredients at the onset. Roast the semolina and keep aside.

    Heat ghee, splutter mustard seeds. Add urad daal, chana daal, curry leaves, and saute on low flame. Add chopped onion and fry till translucent.

    Now add chopped tomatoes, green peas, french beans grated ginger and cook till tomatoes are mushy.

    Then, mix prior fried three colours capsicum. Pour water, vangi power and salt as required. Mix well and bring to boil.

    Now add roasted 1/2 cup Semolina and stir continuously at low flame, without lumps till sooji soaked the water. Khara Bhath is ready.

    For Keshri Bhath, roast the cashews, raisins and semolina with ghee.

    Add 1.5 cups of water, saffron milk and sugar. Allow to boil.

    Then add roasted semolina, fried cashews and raisins along with coconut and cardamom powder. Mix well on low flame till semolina absorb the water and Keshri Bhath dries up. Kashri Bhath is ready to serve.
