Orange Glaze
Here’s a simple orange glaze l like to use for bundt/naked cakes and donuts.
Steps
- 1
Mix powdered sugar and orange juice, adding the juice slowly to control the thickness. Mix until smooth, glossy and a pourable consistency that slowly drips off a spoon without being too watery
- 2
Stir in the zest if using
- 3
Use as desired. I tripled the recipe to glaze the linked orange poppyseed bundt cake because l wanted it soggy and with a strong orange taste
Tips
If glaze is too thick, add more juice, a few drops at a time. And if too thin, add a bit more icing sugar, mixing in until smooth between additions
Add a tiny knob of softened butter or a spoon of cream for a richer glaze and if intended for use on a very zesty dessert to cut back on the tanginess
If glazing something larger, just double it, the recipe scales very easily
