Kabocha Squash with Sesame Seeds in a Microwave

I love kabocha and sesame seeds So, here's what happened.

Make sure to microwave the kabocha squash until you can mash it easily with a fork.
Adjust the amount of sugar depending on the sweetness of the kabocha.
I was able to make 9 of 2.5 cm-sized chakin-shapes (squeezed into teardrop-like shapes). For about 2 servings. Recipe by Yukipekopoko

Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 1/8Kabocha squash
  2. 2 tspSugar
  3. 1 pinchSalt
  4. 1 tbspToasted white sesame seeds
  5. 1Toasted white sesame seeds for decoration

Steps

  1. 1

    I used Shinsei's "Peeled Roasted Sesame Seeds". They say it's good for digestion since it's peeled.

    Chop the kabocha into small chunks. Put into a microwave-safe container. Pour a modest amount of water on top, then cover with a plastic wrap, and microwave for 3 1/2 minutes at 600W.

    Drain the water and mash with a fork. To evaporate excess water, microwave 1 minute at 600W without the plastic wrap.

    Add sugar, salt, and sesame seeds into the kabocha prepped in step 2, then mix together. Dish it up, top with sesame seeds if you wish, and serve.

    You could arrange it on a serving dish, or squeeze the tops with a plastic wrap for a cute shape. Also good for bentos.
