Place the flour in a bowl, make a well in the center, and add the ingredients in the order listed.

Knead well and let the dough rise for about 1 1/2 hours, or until it doubles in size.

After rising, divide the dough into two equal parts. Roll each piece into a rectangle, then cut into triangles. Roll up the triangles to form the medialunas.

Place them close together on a greased baking sheet as shown in the photo, and let rise for another 30 minutes.

After rising, bake in a preheated oven (top and bottom heat, no fan) at 350°F (180°C) for at least 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan over low heat, stirring often. Once it comes to a boil, let it boil for 5 more minutes. - 7
