Ingredients

Bake for 20 minutes at 350°F (180°C)
Serves 8 servings
  1. 1/2 cupsugar (100 g)
  2. 2 cupsalmond flour (200 g)
  3. 2 tablespoonsdark rum
  4. 2eggs
  5. 1egg (separate the white to add to the recipe, reserve the yolk for brushing)
  6. 1/3 cupmelted butter (80 g)
  7. 2 sheetspuff pastry

Steps

Bake for 20 minutes at 350°F (180°C)
  1. 1

    Mix the eggs and sugar together.

  2. 2

    Add the almond flour, 2 tablespoons of rum, and melted butter. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Unroll one sheet of puff pastry and spread the filling in the center, leaving a 1/2-inch (about 1.5 cm) border around the edge.

  4. 4

    Once the filling is spread, lightly moisten the edge of the pastry with a little water using your finger.

  5. 5

    Cover with the second sheet of puff pastry.

  6. 6

    Press the edges of the pastry together with your fingers to seal.

  7. 7

    Brush the top of the pastry with the reserved egg yolk.

  8. 8

    Optional: Use a knife to make small cuts around the edge and create a decorative pattern on top with the back of the knife.
