  • 110 gButter
  • 110 gCaster Sugar
  • 2 tbspGolden Syrup
  • 2Eggs
  • 175 gSelf Raising Flour
  • 1/4 tspBaking Powder
  • 1 tspVanilla Extract

Steps

  1. 1

    Cream butter and sugar until light and creamy

  2. 2

    Add in syrup and eggs one at a time beating in after each addition

  3. 3

    Sift the flour and baking powder and fold into mixture. Add in vanilla

  4. 4

    Bake for 35 to 45 minutes at 180c/Gas 4 until risen and golden brown
