Place a square piece of plastic wrap in a deep, round bowl, pressing it to fit the shape of the bowl.

Sprinkle salt evenly over the plastic wrap.

Add half the amount of rice for one onigiri onto the wrap, then sprinkle salt around the edges.

Place your desired filling in the center, cover with the remaining rice, and sprinkle more salt on top.

Gather the plastic wrap and shape the rice ball by squeezing gently. Unwrap and wrap with as much nori as you like.
