Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 lbsmarlin (about 2 kg)
  • 2 1/4 lbsoctopus, cooked (about 1 kg)
  • 2 1/4 lbsshrimp (about 1 kg)
  • 2 1/4 lbsfish fillet (about 1 kg)
  • 1white onion
  • 1red onion
  • 3 clovesgarlic
  • 1red bell pepper
  • 1green bell pepper
  • 1yellow bell pepper
  • 5serrano peppers
  • 5jalapeño peppers
  • 1 bunchcelery, finely chopped
  • 6carrots, diced small
  • 2 1/4 lbstomatoes (about 1 kg)
  • 1 jarolives, pitted or unpitted, to taste
  • 4bay leaves
  • 8 1/2 cupsClamato (2 liters)
  • Garlic salt and black pepper, to taste, for seasoning

Steps

  1. 1

    Cook the marlin with a little oil and sauté with onion. Add water and cook over low heat.

  2. 2

    Add the octopus and mix with the marlin (use pre-cooked octopus). Season with coarse salt, black pepper, and garlic to taste.

    Add the white and red onions and cook for about 5 minutes until combined.

  4. 4

    Add the tomatoes and stir until it comes to a boil.

  5. 5

    Add the bell peppers, celery, carrots, and the rest of the spices.

  6. 6

    Pour in the Clamato and cook over medium heat, stirring gently to combine without breaking up the ingredients.

  7. 7

    After about 20 minutes of boiling, add the shrimp and fish fillets.

  8. 8

    Cook for up to 15 minutes more, just until the shrimp and fish are cooked through but still tender.

  9. 9

    Serve hot.
