I love chawanmushi and could eat it every day! But making it can be a hassle. That's why I came up with this easy chawanmushi you can make in the microwave and share with your family. Just pop it in the microwave and you’ve got an extra dish for your meal (・∀・) Plus, it’s budget-friendly!

Crack the eggs into a large bowl and remove the chalaza (the white stringy part), then beat well.

Add the water and mix, then add the dashi granules, salt, and soy sauce. If you don’t want to measure the dashi, just sprinkle it evenly over the surface of the bowl for the right amount!

Mix well and taste. It’s best if it tastes just a little under-salted at this stage.

Add your favorite toppings.

Loosely cover with plastic wrap and microwave at 200W for 18 to 18 1/2 minutes. It’s ready to serve!
