When it comes to cookies that have been a staple in America for ages, peanut butter cookies are at the top. This is a golden recipe with a crispy and crumbly texture.
The story behind this recipe
My husband loves peanut butter so much that he would eat it straight from the spoon as a dessert. I wanted him to enjoy it in a more proper way, so I decided to make cookies. I used an American recipe as a reference and cut the sugar in half.

Ingredients

About 24 cookies
  1. 1/2 cupunsalted butter (about 113g)
  2. 1/2 cuppeanut butter (about 100g)
  3. 1/2 cupbrown sugar (about 100g)
  4. 1egg
  5. 1 1/3 cupsall-purpose flour (about 160g)
  6. 1/2 teaspoonbaking powder (about 2g)
  7. 1/2 teaspoonbaking soda (about 2g)
  8. 1/2 teaspoonsalt (about 2g)

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Cream the butter, which has been brought to room temperature, with a whisk until smooth. Gradually add the sugar and mix well.

  2. 2

Add the peanut butter and mix. Gradually add the beaten egg and mix well.

  3. 3

Sift in the combined flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda, and mix with a rubber spatula until no longer powdery.

  4. 4

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 hours. If you're in a hurry, freeze for 30 minutes.

  5. 5

Divide the dough into 24 equal parts and roll into balls, about 22g each. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  6. 6

Lightly press the dough with a fork. This is the most fun part.

  7. 7

Like this. Be careful not to press too hard.

  8. 8

Bake in the oven for 10 minutes.

  9. 9

Remove from the oven. It's okay if the dough is still soft. Let them cool on the baking sheet to finish!
