Steps
- 1
Wash the snap peas. Snap off the end opposite the stem (the left side in the photo) by bending it upward.
- 2
Pull the string along the top side of the pod toward the stem end.
- 3
Snap off the stem end and pull the string along the bottom side of the pod.
- 4
Pull the string along the bottom side. This way, you can remove both strings and the stem in one go.
- 5
Bring water to a boil and add salt (about 1% of the water volume). Add the snap peas to the boiling water and cook over medium heat for just under 2 minutes. Do not overcook.
- 6
Drain the snap peas in a colander and let them cool. For easier eating, cut them diagonally in half. Sprinkle with a little salt if you like, and they're ready to serve!
