Cooking Instructions
- 1
I used ready made pastry, however there are lots of good puff pastry recipies out there for you to use!
- 2
Heat the oven to 220°C/500F (gas mark 9).
- 3
Sprinkle the sugar in a heavy-bottomed pan and place over a medium heat on the hob, stirring the sugar frequently and making sure it doesn't burn.
- 4
Allow the sugar to caramelise a little and become a golden brown colour, then remove from the heat and arrange the drained apple pieces in one layer over the sugar
- 5
Sprinkle on a little extra sugar on top of the assembled apples to give the tart an extra bit of flavour. Then place in the oven and cook for about 25 minutes.
- 6
Take a serving dish that is larger than the pan on all sides and place over the top. Protecting your hands with a tea-towel, and, holding the dish and pan firmly together, quickly but carefully flip the pan and the dish.
- 7
Tap the bottom of the pan sharply a few times all round with a wooden spoon, then lift off. The tart should be left on the serving dish with the apple on top.
- 8
Serve with cream or vanilla ice cream.

Once cooked the bottom of this torte almost caramelized. Just an extra dimension of flavor. Use a sharp knife to cut your serving for the nicest presentation. Serve warm right out of the oven. Another treat for your sweets. Taylor Topp Comacho -

Apple Tart Apple Tart
I wanted to make a delicious apple tart filling without using heavy cream.I revised a recipe found in a book by changing up the apples a bit and made it into an easy tart made with just milk. You may end up with some leftover apples at Step 11, but it's fine that way, since they're delicious just by on their own. Please don't use up all the leftover egg at Step 10. It should only be spread thinly throughout the entire crust. Recipe by peko&poko cookpad.japan -
