Cooking Instructions
- 1
Gather all the necessary ingredients.
- 2
Open the instant noodle package and soak the noodles in a small amount of water (not the 200 ml listed) for 1 minute.
- 3
Place the soaked noodles into a folded parchment paper box or small baking dish, then add the two pork soup dumplings on top.
- 4
Transfer to a pot of boiling water, cover with a lid, and steam over high heat for 8 minutes. (Lower the heat when placing the dish in the pot to avoid steam burns.)
- 5
After steaming the dumplings for 5 minutes, bring 7/8 cup (200 ml) water to a boil in a small saucepan. Add half of the instant noodle seasoning packet and bring to a boil. Set aside.
- 6
Remove the steamed noodles and place them on a plate. Pour half of the prepared sauce over the noodles and mix well.
- 7
Top with the steamed soup dumplings, sprinkle with corn kernels and chopped green onions, and drizzle the remaining sauce over everything. Enjoy this unique way to eat instant noodle soup dumplings!

Xiaolongbao (Chinese Soup Dumplings) Made with Gyoza Skins in a Frying Pan Xiaolongbao (Chinese Soup Dumplings) Made with Gyoza Skins in a Frying Pan
I wanted to eat xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) after seeing them on TV but wasn't really sure how to make the skins and didn't even have a steamer. So I used a frying pan and gyoza skins instead.- The soup will not melt easily when you mix it with the half-frozen ground pork.- Keep the soup and the filling in the refrigerator until just before using them.- You can also wrap the dumplings like gyoza if they're difficult to wrap. Stir-fry Noodle Soup Stir-fry Noodle Soup
In the style of Shandong, and taken with liberties from Martin Yan, this soup has a seriously savory body that invites you to eat everything broth and all. It starts with a stir fry of pork, mushrooms, and veggies, followed by an Asian stock, which poaches eggs. The soup is labeled over noodles. Surprisingly hearty yet light. Lance Wilson -

Dumpling soup in miso broth Dumpling soup in miso broth
This dish was inspired by a Bon Appetit vid I watched recently where Zaynab Issa made a 5-ingredient soup featuring store bought dumplings. I've always steamed or fried my dumplings (known in our house as pot stickers), so this came as a revelation. I immediately turned to my Asian food guru-of-the-moment (a.k.a. Marion Grasby) to see if she's made one, and it turned out she has. And so, armed with these two sources, I cobbled up my own pot of soup using techniques from each. The result was warm, soothing, light yet satisfying, and totally wonderful on a cold January night. Robert Gonzal -
