Ingredients

  1. 3 cupscoarse semolina (about 480 grams)
  2. 1/2 cupmelted butter (about 115 grams)
  3. 1 1/2 cupsplain yogurt (about 360 grams)
  4. 1 cupsugar (about 200 grams)
  5. 1/2 cupshredded coconut (about 40 grams)
  6. 1 tablespoonbaking powder
  7. 1/2 teaspoonbaking soda
  8. 1/4 teaspoonsalt
  9. 1 tablespoonbutter, at room temperature
  10. Pine nuts

    Add the melted butter to the semolina and rub them together well. Let the mixture rest for 1 hour.

    Mix the yogurt and sugar together and set aside. Add the coconut, salt, baking soda, and baking powder to the semolina and butter mixture, and mix well.

    Add the yogurt and sugar mixture to the bowl and bring the dough together. Grease a baking pan with the room temperature butter, add the dough, spread it evenly, and decorate with pine nuts that have been soaked in water.

    Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes or until golden brown. While still hot, pour hot sugar syrup over the harissa.
