Shortbread Cookies 🍪

Shortbread or shortie is a traditional Scottish biscuit usually made from one part white sugar, two parts butter and three to four parts plain wheat flour. Shortbread does not contain any leavening, such as baking powder or baking soda.

Steps

Preheat the oven to 190C/170C
Beat the butter and the sugar together until smooth.
Stir in the flour and,to get a smooth paste. Turn on to a work surface and gently roll out until the paste is 1cm/½in thick. - 2
Cut into your desire shape and place onto a baking tray. and chill in the fridge for 20 minutes.
Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until pale golden-brown. Set aside to cool on a wire rack. - 3
Enjoy with coffee, Tea 🍵
