Ingredients

Serves 4 servings
  1. 1 stripbeef brisket from the supermarket
  2. 2 slicesginger
  3. Halfan onion
  4. Any vegetables you want to add, I even added king oyster mushrooms XD
  5. 5 clovesgarlic
  6. 3 tablespoonsdoubanjiang (fermented bean paste)
  7. 2 tablespoonssoy sauce
  8. 1 splashrice wine
  9. White pepper to taste

Cooking Instructions

    Blanch the beef briefly, rinse it, then cut it into pieces and place it with the ginger slices in an electric cooker. Add 2 cups of water to the outer pot and steam.

    While the beef is steaming, wash the vegetables, peel the garlic, and chop the onion.

    Add a little oil to a pot, sauté the garlic and onion until soft, then add the steamed beef. Stir in the doubanjiang and soy sauce, then add water, the steaming liquid from the beef, and a splash of rice wine. Bring to a boil, then add the vegetables and cook until done. Sprinkle with white pepper to finish the broth.
