Pulse the bread in a food processor until finely ground, then mix with the melted butter. Press the mixture evenly into a baking pan.

Grate the mozzarella cheese and spread it evenly over the bread layer.

In a saucepan over the stove, cook the milk with the semolina and sugar, stirring until the mixture thickens to a custard-like consistency. Pour this mixture over the cheese layer.

Bake in the oven at 350°F (180°C) until the bread layer is golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for a minute. Invert onto a serving plate, pour sugar syrup over the top, and garnish with chopped pistachios.
