Ragi Kali (Ragi Muddle)

Ragi Kali (also called Ragi Mudde in Karnataka or Ragi Sankati in Andhra Pradesh) is a traditional South Indian dish made from finger millet flour (ragi) and water. It is a highly nutritious and filling dish, often eaten with sambar, spicy chutneys, or curd.

In a cooking bowl add 2 cups of water with salt. Don't lit the hot. Add 2 tsp of ragi flour and mix without lumps.

Now lit the hob, stir the mixture in low flame. When it starts to bubble little bit add 1 cup of ragi flour and cook until done completely. If you use the wooden ladle it will be easy to mix. Once done switch of the flame, close the vessel and keep it aside for 10 minutes without disturbing.

In a bowl, wipe the bottom with peanut oil. Now take the cooked ragi drop it in the bowl and roll until it comes to a ball shape.
Ragi kali is ready to serve. You can serve with chutney, greens dal. Even it goes very will nonveg curries.
