Steps
- 1
Make the dough – In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Slowly add water while kneading until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- 2
Prepare the filling – Heat oil until hot, then pour it over the ground pork. Add salt, black pepper, five-spice powder, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and oyster sauce (if using). Stir well. Mix in chopped fennel and scallions. Set aside.
- 3
Shape the wrappers – Roll the dough into a long log. Cut into equal pieces and roll each piece into a thin wrapper.
- 4
Assemble dumplings – Place some filling in the center of each wrapper. Fold and seal the edges tightly.
- 5
Cook the dumplings – Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add dumplings and cook until they float, about 4-5 minutes.
- 6
Make the dipping sauce – Mix garlic, scallions, soy sauce, sesame oil, and chili oil (if using). Dip the dumplings in the sauce and enjoy every bite.
