Sourdough Shrimp Toast

Over the weekend, I bought some sourdough bread from a friend’s bakery and decided to try making shrimp toast with it in my air fryer for the first time. Let’s see how it turned out!

Over the weekend, I bought some sourdough bread from a friend’s bakery and decided to try making shrimp toast with it in my air fryer for the first time. Let’s see how it turned out!
Steps
- 1
Cut the bread and set aside.
- 2
Mix the filling ingredients to prepare the shrimp topping.
- 3
Spread the shrimp mixture evenly over the bread slices.
- 4
Sprinkle raw sesame seeds on top for garnish.
- 5
Place in the air fryer. Cook at 285°F (140°C) for about 10 minutes, then at 250°F (120°C) for another 10 minutes. (Adjust as needed.)
* I used an Otto brand air fryer I’ve had for a while. - 6
Notes:
- I didn’t make a dipping sauce, but you can serve this with anything you like, such as sweet chili sauce, hot sauce, ketchup, or with cucumber or fresh veggies on the side.
- For a single serving, 1 slice of bread is just right.
- Don’t use too much shrimp or it won’t cook through and the bread may burn.
- Don’t stack the bread slices in the air fryer, as the shrimp topping may release moisture and make the top slice soggy.
- Add liquid ingredients like egg gradually so the filling isn’t too runny and will stick to the bread.
