Ingredients

Total time:10 minutes
Makes 3 small shots (as shown in the photo)
  • 3fresh amla (Indian gooseberries)
  • 1/4 tspcumin seeds
  • 1/4 tspblack salt (sendha namak)
  • 1 pinchregular salt
  • 1 sprigsweet neem leaves
  • 1/2 inchginger piece
  • 5mint leaves
  • Water as required

Steps

Total time:10 minutes
  1. 1

    ∆ Rinse amla, sweet neem leaves, mint leaves and ginger thoroughly.

    ∆ Cut the amla into small pieces and slice the ginger.

    First Grind :-

    ∆ Add the chopped amla into a mixer jar.
    ∆ Pulse once or twice to crush it roughly.

    Add Herbs & Spices. :-

    ∆ Add mint leaves, ginger, sweet neem leaves, cumin seeds, black salt and a pinch of regular salt.

    ∆ Add a little water and grind again to a smooth paste.

    Extract the Juice :-

    ∆ Place a muslin cloth (malmal) over a clean bowl.

    ∆ Pour the blended mixture over it and squeeze gently to extract the fresh juice.

    Serve Fresh :-

    ∆ Pour the juice into small glass shot cups.

    ∆ Serve immediately to retain nutrients and freshness.

    Serving Suggestions :-

    ∆ Serve chilled in small shot glasses as an immunity booster.

    ∆ Drink first thing in the morning for maximum benefits.

    ∆ Garnish with a mint sprig for a fresh herbal aroma (as in your photo).

Tips

Useful Tips :-

∆ Do not store—always make fresh for best results.

∆ Add honey if you want a mild sweetness.

∆ For extra detox effect, add 2 tbsp warm water before serving.

∆ Avoid adding too much water; shots should be slightly concentrated.
