Steps

Heat oil in a pan.

Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and dry red chilli — let them splutter.

Add chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.

Add dry coconut and roast for 20–30 seconds on low flame.

Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool.

Add salt and red chilli powder to taste.

Once cooled, transfer to a blender and blend to a smooth paste.
(Add only 1–2 tsp water if required.) - 8
Add lemon juice or amchur powder if you want a tangy flavor.

Tips
