Ingredients

5 to 10 people
  • 200 gramsMilkmaid - half tin -
  • 120 gramsAll purpose flour (Maida) -
  • 60 gramsButter -
  • 75 mlMilk -
  • 1 teaspoonBaking powder -
  • 1/4 teaspoonBaking soda-
  • 1 teaspoonEssence - pineapple
  • food colour - one drop - yellow

Steps

    Sieve Maida, Baking powder and Baking Soda

  2. 2

    In other vessel beat milk maid and butter till both turn fluppy.

  3. 3

    Slowly add Maida mix to the above vessel.

  4. 4

    Blend it with milk, essence and a little food colour until smooth.

  5. 5

    Grease and dust the cake mould and pour the batter to it.

  6. 6

    Place the idly cooker with closed lid on the stove for 2 mintues at higher flame. Later lower the flame and preheat for other 8 mintues.

  7. 7

    After 10 mintues, place the mould into it on a lower flame for 20 to 25 mintues. Please ensure that the lid is closed properly.

  8. 8

    Open the lid and check the cake with a tooth pick and if the tooth pick comes clean off the flame.

  9. 9

    Reverse the hot mould on a plate and your eggless sponge cake is ready to smoothen your taste buds.
