Wash the masoor dal and put it in a pressure cooker.

Add 1 cup water, salt, turmeric powder, mustard oil and cook it for 2 whistles.

Now heat mustard oil in a pan.

Once hot, add the kalonji.

Once it splutters add the chopped tomatoes, green chillies and cook till it becomes mushy.

Now add the dal to the kadai, mix everything and bring to a boil.

Once done serve with steamed white rice.
