Deep Dark Brownies!
This one is for those who enjoy eating dark chocolate. This is a treat that is rich, dark and delicious!
Steps
- 1
Line a square 7 inch by 7inch baking dish with foil. Then add the oil and brush it over the foil.
- 2
Preheat the oven to 180 degree Celsius.
- 3
Boil water in a deep saucepan on the stove.
- 4
In a bowl that will sit over the saucepan without touching the water, add the butter, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.
- 5
Place the bowl of the saucepan. Whisk the ingredients together, till the butter melts and the batter looks gritty.
- 6
Now remove this from the heat, and let it rest for 4-5 minutes.
- 7
Now add in the vanilla and the egg. Whisk thoroughly.
- 8
Finally add the flour and the baking powder. Whisk for about 30 secs. The batter should look shiny, and it will be very thick.
- 9
Now carefully pour it out into the foiled baking tray. Place the tray in the oven for 12-15 minutes.
- 10
Prick the centre of the brownie with a toothpick. If it comes out almost clean, then turn off the oven.
- 11
Bring out the tray. Remove the foil carefully, and place it on a cooling rack for atlas 20 minutes
- 12
Cut the brownies into squares. You'll get about sixteen 1.7 inch squares.
- 13
The brownies will be soft and chewy on the inside. Enjoy!
