Carrots, green peas and sweet corn kernels cooked in basmati rice

Soak basmati rice in water for 30 minutes minimum. This allows the the basmati rice to get the long grains after cooked.

In a pressure cooker, add butter/ oil, saute bay leaf, cinnamon stick, garam masala powder
- 3
Add onion and saute till it change in colour
- 4
Add the vegetables, salt and stir fry
- 5
Add the drained basmati rice and add ghee. Mix well
- 6
Add water and stir. Use a light weight ladle so that we don't break the rice grains.

Allow it to cook for 3 whistles or 7 min in low flame. Switch off and give a standing time of 7 min. Can serve hot or transfer to another bowl after the standing time of cooker.

By changing to another dish, stops the cooking process of rice and the cooked rice retains the shape and looks good for serving.
