Grilled Veg Cheese sandwich
This is a good option if you want something hot and tasty within 10 minutes.
Steps
- 1
Apply butter to the slices of bread
- 2
On one of the slices place the cheese. Break up the thin onion slice and distribute it evenly over the cheese. Similarly distribute the finely chopped green chilli. Also add some freshly ground black pepper.
- 3
Sprinkle some salt on top of the vegetables. Apply a few drops of oil on top of the tomato to seal in the flavour and prevent it from going dry when grilled.
- 4
Place the single slice with toppings under a grill for 2 min. Use a stand if you are using a microwave grill (as shown in the photo below)
- 5
After 2 min, remove the place and place the other bread slice on top. Turn over the sandwich and apply 1 tsp of oil on the bread surface. This will give it a thin crisp layer when grilled. Place the sandwich under the grill for another 2 min
- 6
Again turn over the sandwich and apply 1 tsp of oil on the bread. Grill for another 2 min.
- 7
When the sandwich is done, the cheese should be just melted but not so hot that it burns your mouth. The bread should have a thin crisp layer but be soft on the inside. Timings may need to be adjusted depending on the bread and cheese.
