Wish you all a very happy New Year 2016!!!
Got up late ,wished family and friends a happy new year. Thought of Kick-starting the day as well as the year with a sweet. Since i had got up late had to cook breakfast as well.
The sweet that is very easy to make is Kesari Bath. Instead of Rava,why not make it with Aval?? Tadaaa

Ingredients

  • 1 CUPPoha (medium thickness) -
  • 1 cupSugar -
  • 3 . 2 cupsWater -
  • 4 . 2 pinchsred food colouring - (Optional)
  • 5 . 2 to 3 pinchsSaffron -
  • 6 . 2 tbspsGhee -
  • 4 nocashew badam and -

Steps

  1. 1

    Take a cup of poha and wash it well.

  2. 2

    Take a pan, use one tbsp of ghee and roast the cashew and almonds. Keep it aside.

  3. 3

    Now in the same pan saute the poha for a few minutes. Keep it aside.

  4. 4

    Pour water into the pan and add saffron or kesari powder (if you do not have both then you can add turmeric powder) and let it boil.

  5. 5

    Now add the poha, stir it till the poha gets thick.

  6. 6

    As it thickens, add the sugar.

  7. 7

    Now the stir the kesari till it gets a little thick.

  8. 8

    Add a tbsp of ghee and mix it well.

  9. 9

    Garnish with almonds and cashew.
